Night train Brussels–Copenhagen–Malmo from 2028

European Sleeper and German railway company RDC are planning a new night train between Brussels, Rotterdam, Copenhagen, and Malmo. The launch is scheduled for April 2028 – when the train will connect the Benelux countries with Scandinavia directly.

The planned route

The night train is set to connect Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam, and The Hague with Copenhagen and Malmo.

Three departures per week in each direction are planned. Departure will be around 7.00 p.m., with arrival the following morning at around 10.00 a.m.

How concrete are the plans?

European Sleeper and RDC are currently coordinating the timetable with the infrastructure managers along the route. The formal application for train paths will follow in April 2027, one year before the planned launch. Until then, nothing is set in stone – neither the exact timetable nor ticket availability.

Comfort on board

The familiar Budget, Classic, and Comfort categories will be available on board – the same classification that European Sleeper already uses on its existing routes. In addition, particularly luxurious sleeping cars are planned, with double beds and a private shower and toilet in the compartment. This would be a first for European Sleeper: the company currently does not offer this on any other route.

A new route for European Sleeper

European Sleeper is growing quickly: the company currently connects Brussels with Prague, Paris with Berlin, and – from September 2026 – Brussels with Milan.
