FAQ Night Train: How do I get a good night's sleep?
Practical tips for a good night's sleep.

Practical tips for a good night's sleep:

  • The higher the comfort category, the better. In other words, there is a greater chance of a good night's sleep in a 2-bed sleeper compartment than in a 6-berth couchette coach and in a couchette coach than in a seating coach.
  • In the couchette coach, you are less disturbed in the upper and middle berths.
  • Take earplugs and sleeping goggles with you.
  • Try to maintain your usual sleeping routine and conditions as far as possible.
  • Ask your fellow travellers to be quiet.
  • Take your personal pillow or an extra blanket if you get cold quickly. You can find a packing list for the night train here.
  • Take sleeping clothes with you, such as a separate T-shirt.
  • Go to the toilet before going to bed. This will (maybe) save you from going to the toilet at night.
