Travelling to Vienna on the new Nightjet - starting at € 40
Swiss travellers now have a new option for travelling to Vienna while they sleep: The new-generation Nightjet is now operating on the Bregenz <> Vienna route.
Note: This blog entry was reposted from night-ride.ch, the predecessor website of nightride.com.
The new generation Nightjet has recently started operating between Hamburg, Vienna and Innsbruck. More details here. As of now, the new Nightjets also run between Bregenz and Vienna. This opens up an opportunity for Swiss travellers to travel in greater comfort (and hopefully reliability) to the cultural city by the Danube. In Zurich, you can take the Eurocity to Munich at 19:33, which stops in Bregenz at 21:00, after a travel time of just under one and a half hours. Plenty of time to catch the night train at 21:40.
And it is surprisingly cheap. In the next few months, seats in the much-hyped Mini Cabins are available for as little as 40 euros. Perhaps this is an entry-level offer that will soon vanish again. Seats are of course even cheaper - but then the Railjet, which runs several times a day from Zurich to Vienna, is the better option.
Compartments with a toilet or a shower are currently also available at exceptionally low prices. Single compartments are available for less than 200 Swiss francs, double compartments even for less than 100 Swiss francs per person.
Have a great journey!
