In case you haven't heard, the days of outdated coaches with constantly failing air conditioning, toilets or heating seem to be over.

Well, at least on two connections: As of the 2023/2024 timetable change, namely on 10 December, the new-generation Nightjets will be running between Hamburg <> Vienna and Hamburg <> Innsbruck. You can look up the prices for these connections on nightride.com.

A highlight are the so-called mini cabins, which are somewhat reminiscent of Japanese capsule hotels and are designed to offer more privacy. Good news: there are still many money-saving offers for the next few weeks, with mini cabins often available from just € 75 or € 77.

Maybe an inexpensive and climate-friendly way to escape to the mountains over Christmas/New Year? The normal prices (without a discount card) are around twice as high at around € 150.

If you are travelling as a couple, you can get a double room with a shower and private toilet («Schlafwagen Comfort Plus») for € 215 or € 218 per person without a discount. However, there are already fewer discounts on offer here. Somewhat cheaper are the variants without a shower (who needs that anyway?): Double compartments are available from € 194 and € 197 for Hamburg <> Vienna and Hamburg <> Innsbruck respectively.

Have fun giving the new Nightjets a try!
