Introduced only a couple of years ago, the Paris-Berlin night train recently became a victim of French budget cuts. The operator ÖBB has thus decided to discontinue the line (and also the one to Vienna) from December onwards. However, it seems there will be a comeback!

Who will operate the replacement night train?

The new (old) night train will be operated by European Sleeper, a private company hailing from the Netherlands. Read here everything about them and their existing lines.

When will the train start running?

The train is scheduled to start operations from 26th March 2026 onwards.

What is the planned schedule?

Departures from Paris are scheduled for Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, arriving in Berlin the following morning. The return service from Berlin will operate on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights.

Interestingly, the existing Brussels-Berlin service runs on the other days of the week, meaning that it will be possible to travel over night from Brussels to Berlin six times a week.

What comfort categories will be available?

Typical categories such as seats, couchettes and sleeper cars are foreseen. More details soon. Read all about the existing European Sleeper comfort levels here.

What will it cost?

European Sleeper is saying that the "pricing [will be] similar to the Nightjet service currently operating between the two capitals". That means seat places would cost between 40 and 60 euros, couchettes anything between 100 and 160 euros, and sleeper cabins from 150 euros upwards.

When will tickets be available – and where?

Ticketing is scheduled to start on December 16th already. You will be able to book tickets via nightride.com.
